Primary School Registration

Time really flies. Just a blink, and I’ve registered Pie for Primary School. In 2 more years, she’ll be wearing blue pinafore with white blouse, attending Standard One…

I registered her into a Chinese school. I’m still afraid that she might not be able to cope up with it… with “banana” parents, and olden days knowledge grandparents, I do not know how much we can help her. Of course there’s still tuition teachers to help out… however I guess she’ll need to buck up and pick up fast. Luckily, she is quite a fast learner… in fact, she is teaching us the chinese words instead… thus far, I’ve learnt quite a bit :)

I need to spend more time with her, as well as her sister… cannot let go of time flying so fast… I still want my baby in my arms :)

  1. Why Chinese school? The parents are both banana and they seem to be faring well mar :)

    • Why Chinese school is so that she would be able to fare well in her future. Don’t want her to be like her parents not being able to venture / go places that are of Chinese speaking medium only.

  2. HI….you left a message at my blog which I recently read – have been busy and that’s why I have not been updating my blog as often as I liked.

My boy is doing great in school, way, way beyond me and hubby’s expectation. He just completed his 1st examination where he scored an average of 89%. Bu of course, boys being boys, we have also put in a lot of effort. He’s in daycare where there’s tuition (minimum) and we engage a private one-to-one tutor for him and she (ms Lim) comes to the house twice a week, 1.5 hours each session. That really helps as we can see vast improvement in him; a year ago he cannot even understand basic chinese words. Another thing is that it would be mych better if your kid has been exposed to at least 2 years of chinese in a good kindi, something which we fail to do for Ryan and hence, him (and us) struggling.
As for the school, Puay Chai 2 is okay although there are a lots of students in one class (45-55) and teachers there understand that a majority of the parents there are bananas :) .
Hope the above helps and do contact me if you need more information. Cheers – Shir
